She-Hulk is the latest Marvel television show to land on Disney+. It features Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk, aka Bruce Banner’s cousin, aka Attorney at Law. The show does something very unique and reminds us that entertainment is for fun — it’s not something to be endlessly dissected and get upset over.
As writers, our work won’t always land with everyone — that’s ok! I loved She-Hulkfor the same reasons some people probably disliked it. But I applaud the writers for exploring a theme they likely knew would upset a large swath of “fans.”
Have you ever broken the fourth wall with your writing? What about exploring themes contrary to the expected? Hit reply and let’s talk. Or… well, keep reading for another option!
