I am not the target demographic for this movie. Then again, I’m not exactly sure children were the target for the original, either. That said, this leaves all the creepy murder and psychedelic boat rides behind and just leans into children’s movie tropes and cliches. I did enjoy Hugh Grant as the Oompah Loompa.
