Write Now with Dr. Catherine Clinton
Today's Write Now interview features Dr. Catherine Clinton, author of OPTIMIZE: A GROUNDBREAKING 7-STEP PLAN TO HEALTH AND LONGEVITY THROUGH QUANTUM BIOLOGY.
Who are you?
My name is Catherine Clinton ND. I’m a licensed naturopathic physician in Oregon. I’m also the founder and chair of the Quantum Biology Health Institute.
What do you write?
I write nonfiction focusing on a new perspective in health- quantum biology. I started writing after being diagnosed with two autoimmune conditions and Lyme disease. I don’t avoid topics but my writing is focused on sharing how I healed and how others can too. I love what I do because I truly believe that a quantum biology approach to health offers practical and often no cost tools for better health and longevity.
Where do you write?
I write in many different locations. It is usually more about the inspiration than the routine. I am most productive when I write at a desk overlooking a wooded valley where I live. The view helps me stay calm and in the flow. Another place I am most productive is traveling on an airplane. I travel often for speaking engagements and flying makes me a little nervous. I can channel that nervousness into some great fuel for writing. It keeps me focused. I prefer a notepad and a smooth flowing pen but, eventually, it all goes into a document on the computer.
When do you write?
A typical writing session is driven by two things: inspiration and deadlines. I set the time limit but I can usually stay focused until the inspiration is complete or the deadline has been met.
Why do you write?
I write to help others with their health. When I was sick it was a very scary and lonely time. I often wondered if that was what the rest if my life was going to look like. After discovering a quantum biology approach to health or how light, sound, electrical charge, nature and the mind can be used to heal, I wanted others to know this too. The relationship we have with the sun, the seasons, the ground beneath our feet and within ourselves are powerful tools for wellness and I’m dedicated to getting this information to the people that need it.
How do you overcome writer's block?
I overcome writers block with movement. I go outside and go for a walk which usually does the trick.
Bonus: What do you enjoy doing when not writing?
When I’m not writing I enjoy being outdoors, cooking and homeschooling my two children. I travel all over the world speaking and really enjoy the delights that visiting somewhere new offers.
My thanks to Catherine Clinton for today's interview.
