Raise your hand if you’re tired. 👋🏻

It’s been a few weeks since I sent a proper update, which means it’s been a few weeks since I’ve *written* a post of substance. I just haven’t had it in me lately.

The reality is that I haven’t felt much like writing lately. I’ve been tired and prioritizing other things with my limited time.

The irony is that this all started when I began focusing on writing the second edition of my book. I pumped my creative energy into the book, focusing on encouraging writers to, *well*, write. In the process, I got tired of doing exactly that. It’s a vicious cycle that anyone who creates will likely experience.

I thought about skipping *another* week, but then I remembered there are literal *chapters* in my book about why writers *write*. Working on a book about writing is pretty hard for my impostor syndrome when I can’t even put in the work myself.

So, that’s what I’m doing today: putting in the work. I’m overcoming what [Andy Weir calls](https://justincox.com/blog/2019/01/write-now-with-andy-weir/) “writer’s lazy-assed work avoidance” and showing up.

Today’s post is not insightful, but it is a message to everyone else that we all feel the flame flickering from time to time. Burnout is real. But we can all overcome the mountain by just putting words on the page, even if they’re shit.

Thank you for being part of the journey.
