This Stand is Your Stand, This Strand is My Strands
At some point I was given an invitation to join the Strands private beta. I’ve said before that I like to try out different web 2.0 sites and while most don’t stick on me, some do. So when I was given the invite I quickly joined.
Strands is a social media aggregator, sort of like the horrid FriendFeed, but with a much better design, layout and social aspect — meaning it’s very easy to communicate with other people. When setting up Strands to check all of my various social feeds I ran into a problem with Flickr. Figuring it was a temporary issue, I forgot about it. Awhile later, I tried again and going the same issue. Since Strands is still in beta, I decided to submit a bug report. Very quickly, almost instantly, one of the Stands developers emaled me back asking for more information on the issue. After a few emails back and forth he said he was going to pass the issue onto one of the other developers but in order to make up for my inability to add Flickr he wanted to send me a Strands tshirt. Never one to pass up a free tshirt, let alone one for a swanky web startup, I agreed. So, behold, my sweet new Strands tshirt:

Nice post. I’ve been looking into this company more and more and know some of the guys there. Are you familiar with Pageonce? A bit different but also kind of an aggregator without the social recommendation part. I’d love an invite if you have one left. Thanks.
