They Look a Little Similar…
I was just cruising Netflix to see if Freaks and Geeks was available for instant play — it’s not — when I stumbled onto my recommendations and short lived 88 Minutes. I remember seeing the trailer for this moving and thinking it might be somewhat enjoyable, but probably didn’t have much to it. Considering it made 40% of it’s $16 million domestic take on opening weekend, my thoughts seemed to be well founded. What struck me about the film, however, was it’s box art:
Look a little familiar? I thought so too. So I typed ‘Bourne’ into the search field and look what I found:
Interesting. Considering The Bourne Supremacy earned nearly 11 times 88 Minutes take at the box office I guess you can see what they were going for. Whether that’s what they were thinking or not, it’s a pretty blatant rip-off.
