Are Mac Owners Snobs?
The people over at The Street, the website where Jim Cramer gives you all kinds of wonderful stock tips, have recently put together a short video covering the buying habits of Mac owners. Citing research from a Mindset Media survey of 7500 Mac and PC owners, they list the following Mac owner characteristics:
- Purchase teeth whitening products
- Average 5 new pairs of sneakers a year
- Prefer organic food
- Love Starbucks
- Drive hybrid cars
- Are perfectionists
- Pay for downloaded music
- Are liberal
- Prefer notebook computers to desktops
- Drive station wagons
- Consider themselves “green” and are willing to pay more for green technology
- Are far more satisfied with their computer purchase (70% vs 59% of PC owners).
Ok, so I’ll admit that A LOT of those things ring true. I enjoy my Aquafresh Extreme Clean Whitening toothpaste and I do drive a hybrid car, but station wagon? Come on. And five pairs of sneakers a year? I’m still rocking the same sneakers from two years ago. I might pick up a new pair of sandals every year or so, but not five. Though I do pay for music and am pretty happy with my computer purchase(s).
