I agree with your view on personal blogs, and it’s the same reason why I prefer to read non-fiction rather than fiction: I prefer learning over imagining — I find it more productive.

I like personal blogs myself, because I think that people are really interesting. I like hearing about someone’s day, and I love how our lives are all different, and yet, there’s always something we can relate to in someone else’s life.
